Initial consultation

Before starting treatment, a consultation with a laser professional is essential to assess and determine whether laser is suitable for your needs.

Post-treatment advice

It’s important to strictly follow your technician’s instructions on sun exposure, tanning booths and self-tanning.

Duration of treatment

Depending on the area to be treated.

Number of sessions and intervals

An average of 6 sessions only, spaced every 4 weeks for the face and every 6 to 8 weeks for the body.

Post-treatment care

Protect your skin after and between sessions.

Here’s what to avoid:

  • Avoid exposing your skin to UV rays (sun or sunbed) or self-tanner for at least two weeks after treatment. This will minimize skin darkening (hyperpigmentation).
  • Avoid heat treatments such as spas, steam rooms and saunas for 7 days.
  • Avoid rubbing or applying excessive pressure to the skin for 4 to 5 days. This is to allow the treated skin to heal and prevent infection.
  • Avoid shaving the treated area for 72 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid exercise for at least 48 hours.
  • Avoid hot baths and showers for 48 hours.
  • Avoid anything containing chlorine (e.g. swimming) for 48 hours.
  • Avoid applying make-up to the treated area for at least 48 hours.
  • Avoid applying perfumed products or whitening creams for 48 hours.
  • Avoid scratching the treated area if blisters or scabs appear, as this may cause scarring.
  • Avoid waxing, tweezing and threading for the duration of the treatment.

And here’s what to do after treatment and between sessions:

  • Apply an ice pack to the treated area to reduce pain, discomfort or irritation.
  • Apply aloe vera gel or soothing creams for 3 days after treatment.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing to avoid rubbing on the treated area for 48 hours.
  • Keep the treated area clean and dry for 48 hours.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Use at least SPF 50 sunscreen with zinc for at least 2 weeks.
Post-treatment care

Session sequence

Shave between sessions and before starting each treatment

Shaving is indeed permitted and suggested between each laser session, which are spaced every 6 to 8 weeks. We will also ask you to shave the treated area a few hours before the session, as laser treatment is always performed on smooth skin.

Validation of absence of contraindications

Precise protocols are followed by our entire team of technicians, to ensure the safety of the treatments offered. First and foremost, she will validate that there are no changes to the health check-up initially completed during the consultation session. She will also ensure that the list of recommendations and requirements has been followed to the letter.

Delimiting the treatment area

Using a pencil specially designed for this type of treatment, the areas to be treated are marked out. If the person has a tattoo, this step will help delimit it so that this specific area is not treated.

Pre-treatment gel application

Among other things, the pre-treatment gel helps the laser handpiece to glide smoothly, making treatment safe by preventing burns.

Safety goggles

The safety of our customers and staff is paramount, which is why it is compulsory to wear protective eyewear specially designed for this type of treatment.

Choice of parameters

Our experienced technicians will take the time to consider several factors, such as the treatment area, your phototype (skin color), and the texture and color of your hair, to ensure that the treatment is at its most effective.

Post-laser treatment gel application

This gel, specially designed for laser treatments, minimizes treatment-related side effects such as redness, swelling and irritation. This gel should be applied twice a day for 3 days following treatment.
