Post-treatment advice

It’s important to strictly follow your technician’s instructions on sun exposure, tanning booths and self-tanning.

Duration of treatment

Depending on the area to be treated.

Number of sessions and intervals

An average of 6 sessions only, spaced every 4 weeks for the face and every 6 to 8 weeks for the body.

Protect your skin after and between sessions.

Here’s what to avoid:

• Avoid exposing your skin to UV rays (sun or sunbed) or self-tanner for at least two weeks after treatment. This will minimize skin darkening (hyperpigmentation).
• Avoid heat treatments such as spas, steam rooms and saunas for 7 days.
• Avoid rubbing or applying excessive pressure to the skin for 4 to 5 days. This is to allow the treated skin to heal and prevent infection.
• Avoid shaving the treated area for 72 hours after treatment.
• Avoid exercise for at least 48 hours.
• Avoid hot baths and showers for 48 hours.
• Avoid anything containing chlorine (e.g. swimming) for 48 hours.
• Avoid applying make-up to the treated area for at least 48 hours.
• Avoid applying perfumed products or whitening creams for 48 hours.
• Avoid scratching the treated area if blisters or scabs appear, as this may cause scarring.
• Avoid waxing, tweezing and threading for the duration of the treatment.

And here’s what to do after treatment and between sessions:

• Apply an ice pack to the treated area to reduce pain, discomfort or irritation.
• Apply aloe vera gel or soothing creams for 3 days after treatment.
• Wear loose-fitting clothing to avoid rubbing on the treated area for 48 hours.
• Keep the treated area clean and dry for 48 hours.
• Drink plenty of water.
• Use at least SPF 50 sunscreen with zinc for at least 2 weeks.
